ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lighting Support Specialist is a valuable member of the Lighting Support Group and is responsible for providing technical, documentation, and logistical support for lighting and lighting controls across multiple construction projects. This role supports preconstruction, project management, procurement, warehouse, and field teams by ensuring lighting fixtures and controls are accurately reviewed, detailed, released, tracked, and delivered in accordance with project schedules and company standards.

The Lighting Support Specialist helps improve efficiency, reduce risk, and maintain documentation integrity by coordinating lighting-related activities and serving as a central point of communication between internal teams and external vendors.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare lighting take-offs and compare lighting quantities against project estimates.
  • Review lighting fixture submittals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with lighting controls submittals, procurement, and tracking.
  • Support detailing efforts, including driver quantities and locations, LED lengths, and related lighting components.
  • Coordinate and maintain lighting documentation, including submittals, shop drawings, and release packages.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure lighting documentation meets company and project standards.
  • Coordinate lighting fixture and controls releases with vendors based on project schedules.
  • Build and maintain lighting fixture and controls trackers to monitor procurement, delivery, and jobsite needs.
  • Support warehouse receiving and check-in processes for lighting materials.
  • Coordinate lighting material movement from vendors to CSI warehouses, prefab facilities, and jobsites.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Estimating, Purchasing, Warehouse, Prefab, and Field Operations to resolve lighting-related issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors and internal teams regarding lighting schedules, changes, and technical questions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Lighting Support Group and project teams.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in construction, electrical systems, lighting, or a related field
  • Knowledge of lighting fixtures, lighting controls, and construction documentation preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
  • Accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Proactive attitude, showing initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch.

Work Environment

  • Works in a climate controlled environment 50% of the time.
  • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
  • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals.

    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
