Medical Biller/Coder – Multi-Specialty Physician Group

Midwest Physician Group (MPG) is a growing multi-specialty physician organization dedicated to supporting independent physicians and clinics while providing the resources, technology, and operational support needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

MPG brings together independent medical practices across multiple specialties throughout the Kansas City area. Our physician-owned organization is committed to maintaining the independence of our practices while creating opportunities for collaboration, growth, and improved operational efficiency.

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Biller/Coder to join our Billing Team!

REMOTE POSITION – ONSITE TRAINING REQUIRED

This is a remote position with the opportunity to work from home once training has been successfully completed.

Onsite training is required during the initial training period. Training will take place at our Overland Park, Kansas office to ensure new team members receive the hands-on training and support needed to be successful in the position.

Following completion of training, this position will transition to a remote work schedule, with occasional onsite meetings or training as needed.

About the Position

The Medical Biller/Coder will play an important role in supporting the revenue cycle for our multi-specialty physician practices. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to work independently while being part of a collaborative billing team.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely charge entry
  • Medical coding and review of documentation for appropriate coding
  • Claim submission, follow-up, and corrections
  • Insurance eligibility and benefit verification
  • Accounts Receivable (A/R) follow-up
  • Insurance denial management and appeals
  • Payment posting and reconciliation
  • Patient and insurance collections
  • Researching and resolving claim issues and billing discrepancies
  • Reviewing claim edits and correcting billing errors
  • Communicating with patients and insurance companies by phone
  • Working with providers and office staff to resolve billing and coding questions
  • Maintaining accurate and timely billing records
  • Assisting with various revenue cycle and billing projects
  • Other billing and coding duties as assigned
