Role: Practice Lead/Manager ITOM - CMDB/CSDM
Location: Onsite - California Bay Area
Required Certifications: CSA, CTA, CMDB, CSDM
Role Summary:
The accountable owner for Customer's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM). Responsible for data integrity, governance, and ensuring the CMDB supports sound decision-making at the executive level. Given the history of foundational data issues from prior implementations, this role carries a mandate to assess, correct, and stabilize before building forward.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the data model, data dictionary, and overall CMDB health
- Conduct an early assessment of current CMDB state prior work should not be assumed accurate or complete
- Ensure configuration items are current, accurate, and stable
- Define KPIs to measure and manage data effectiveness
- Govern data integrations including Discovery and third-party enrichment sources
- Ensure the CMDB supports reliable data for executive decision-making bad CMDB data has direct downstream impact on SPM and other high-visibility platforms
- Promote awareness and organizational acceptance of the CMDB across a matrix organization where siloed communication is a known challenge
- Ensure the CMDB is tied to and supports Customer's business objectives
Engagement Model:
- Same embedded model as Platform Architect
- Works in close coordination with the Platform Architect on cross-cutting decisions
- Should expect to navigate a matrix organization with multiple stakeholder groups (GTE, EPE, ED/OCIO) understanding the reporting landscape is important to effective governance
