Job description

Reports to: Director of Procurement

Cooperates with: Production and Operations

MIRATECH, a global leader in emission and silencing solutions, is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Diversification
    • Strategize, identify, qualify, and develop alternate sources of supply
    • Establish three sources of supply for every part
    • Ensure no single source supply relationships exist
  • Pricing
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies
    • Deliver documented and quantifiable cost savings through negotiation, alternate sourcing, improved terms, reduced transportation costs, and total cost of ownership improvements
    • Establish benchmark for material pricing
    • Assist in maintaining item master pricing integrity within the ERP system
  • New Product Development
    • Collaborate with product development and engineering to source new materials
    • Lead and prepare bid events and bid summaries
  • Supplier Relationship Management and Performance Tracking
    • Maintain supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance with key performance indicators, scorecards, annual reviews, and supplier corrective actions.
  • Contracts
    • Develop and maintain supplier contracts, master supply agreements, master purchasing agreements as needed.
    • Manage contract lifecycle, renegotiation, and renewals
  • Analyze purchasing, pricing, and inventory data to identify cost reduction and supply chain efficiency opportunities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, risk mitigation, reverse logistics, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, operations, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant purchasing/procurement experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving cost reductions or cost avoidance.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and MRP-driven purchasing processes.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting purchasing and inventory data.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as required for supplier visits
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
  • APICS/ASCM, CSCMP, or ISM certification is preferred
  • Experience with SYSPRO ERP preferred
  • Experience purchasing engineered, fabricated, or made-to-order products preferred
