1099 CONTRACTOR - CSC DC Support Group Facilitator

General Description

This agreement covers work provided by CONTRACTOR to serve as a CSC DC Men Navigating Cancer Support Group Facilitator. It is understood that CONTRACTOR is an expert Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP), trained and experienced in facilitation of support groups for people impacted by cancer. CONTRACTOR will serve as a Support Group Facilitator, and may also be expected to oversee educational workshops and other programs as well as representing the CSC DC mission, core concepts and philosophy to the general public.

Scope of Work
  • Facilitate support groups virtual via Zoom, in person, or in a hybrid format in alignment with Cancer Support Community (CSC DC) methodology and philosophy for individuals impacted by cancer.
  • Create a supportive group environment to help members explore emotions, reduce distress, and enhance quality of life.
  • Assist group members in sharing their cancer-related experiences, fostering connection, reducing isolation, and promoting empowerment.
  • Encourage mutual support and knowledge-sharing among participants to support active engagement in care and recovery.
  • Participate in orientation and required training, including review of the CSC DC Program Manual, meetings with the management team, and shadowing experienced facilitators.
  • Attend monthly support group facilitator meetings and complete required documentation, including time sheets and any reports as requested.
  • Serve as host or facilitator for educational workshops and special events, which includes introducing speakers, providing an overview of CSC DC, participating in or co-facilitating the event, fielding questions and gathering feedback, and reporting outcomes to the Program
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Program Director, including one-on-one communication with participants and participation in relevant administrative or supervision
Requirements
  • At minimum, must be licensed at the Masterโ€™s level in a mental health profession (e.g., Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Psychology) with an active licenseto practice in the District of Columbia at the time of hire. Licensure in Maryland and Virginia is preferred; if not currently licensed in all three jurisdictions, a timeline for obtaining additional licensure will be established. Documentation of all active licenses is required upon hire and at each renewal period.
  • Proof of active licensure and professional liability insurance coverage Minimum of 1โ€“3 years of experience in group facilitation.
  • Commitment to follow CSCโ€™s psychosocial support methods and therapeutic community
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals facing serious or chronic
  • Oncology experience
  • Proficiency with virtual platforms, primarily Zoom, and the ability to facilitate groups in both virtual and in person as needed.
Compensation

CSC DC shall pay Contractor $60 per hour. Group/workshops times range from one (1) hour to ninety (90) minutes in length. Thirty (30) minutes of preparation and wrap up time may be added to each group for a total of ninety (90) minutes to two (2) hours of work/workshop per group).

Term

This Agreement will terminate on [insert Month, DD, YYYY], unless ended earlier in accordance with the Agreement. Annual renewal is based on CSC DC program needs and mutual written agreement.
