GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
The CSC San Diego Event Manager works with the Managing Director to implement event operations plans and execute crowd management plans for various venues across San Diego. This position serves as the principal liaison between the CSC San Diego Internal and External clients to ensure optimal service delivery on all levels, while gaining first-hand experience and exposure to the stadium, arena, and amphitheater event landscape in San Diego.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop staffing plans, deployments, and event estimates for their venue.
  • Communicates with and "Briefs" event staff, event supervisors and event area directors.
  • Must be able to manage over 100 supervisors and staff responsible for event crowd management activities.
  • Coordinates all details of their event.
  • Interfaces with clients and team representatives to create staffing and operational event plans.
  • Prepares all paperwork, ensures uniform and equipment requests are submitted, and completes all assigned tasks as planned.
  • Will be present at all major events, with the ability to mitigate any potential issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate various event operational planning timelines to ensure client deadlines are met.
  • Must attend meetings and serve as the face of the organization, with the ability to speak on behalf of CSC in coordination with clients' events.
  • Other duties as assigned by senior management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May use event vehicles "golf carts" when provided for events subject to completion company training.
  • Oversee care and return of all issued equipment.
  • Check that all staff wear appropriate uniforms.
  • Walking significant distances, including up and down stairs, as may be needed to roam throughout the venue.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Four years of related work experience, two years of general experience in security, law enforcement or military police and a high school level education; or two years related work experience and an associate's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS
  • General knowledge of computer operation, Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook Etc.), email, and proficiently use a keyboard.
  • General experience in incident tracking software such as 24/7 Software.
  • Fluent in operation and use of two way radio systems and communication best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Five years of related work experience, three years of general experience in security, law enforcement or military with a high school level education; or two years related work experience and Bachelor or Associate degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • General knowledge of computer operation, Microsoft Office Products; Must become proficient in company Workforce Management System.
  • Ability to maintain good client/customer relations and work in a team setting.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, applicants, customers, or organization.
  • Possess good verbal/written communication skills and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Work necessary hours needed to complete job preparation in addition to event hours.
  • Walking significant distances, including up and down stairs, as required to roam throughout the venue.
  • Complete mandated industry training as assigned.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: As a nationwide organization with involvement in many of the world's premier events, the CSC Los Angeles Event Manager may be asked to travel to other branch locations and provide management assistance for such events. Some common annual events include the Coachella Valley Music Festival, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC), NFL Playoffs, and various conventions. All travel is paid for by CSC.
