Job description

THE WORK:

Ripple is looking for Sr. Manager of Competitive Intelligence who will ensure that Ripple's leaders and employees remain current on industry trends and market developments. Reporting into the SVP of Strategic Initiatives, this person will work across the entire Ripple organization to deliver timely information, analysis, and actionable insights that put these developments in context. Such intelligence is pivotal in crafting the company's strategy, product roadmap, partnership priorities and investments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Synthesize technology, regulatory, and business perspectives from diverse sources to develop high-impact insights that drive strategic perspective on developments related to Ripple's businesses.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to uncover strategic opportunities and threats, leveraging a deep understanding of Ripple's products to deliver analysis that goes far beyond news aggregation.
  • Proactively identify and monitor industry developments, quickly flagging high-priority shifts with relevant context and analysis to Leadership and appropriate internal teams.
  • Deliver proactive, executive-ready briefings and strategic reports to Ripple's senior leadership team, including the CEO, with clear points of view and recommendations  to inform high-level decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Ripple leaders and subject matter experts to pinpoint and prioritize the most critical competitive intelligence topics for deep-dive research.
  • Forge trusted partnerships across the product, marketing, regulatory and corporate development teams to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive business growth.
  • Manage competitive intelligence resources and cultivate industry networks-securing "boots-on-the-ground" intelligence from the crypto and payments sectors and representing Ripple at key industry events.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

  • 10+ years of work experience in market intelligence and industry research, ideally within crypto, FinTech, or financial services, coupled with operational experience in ambitious, fast-paced startup environments.
  • A strong, demonstrated interest in digital assets and crypto markets, with specific familiarity regarding the intersection of institutional finance and blockchain technology.
  • The ability to develop rigorous, evidence-based research that moves beyond "desk research" to incorporate business and financial analysis. You have an informed "take" and are able to support it with compelling evidence.
  • Elite communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into actionable insights for a general business audience.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within a matrix organization, demonstrating the ability to work effectively at all levels of the company - including the C-suite; high "EQ"
  • Robust industry connections and a visible presence across the key communication channels used by the crypto community today, such as X/Twitter, Discord, Telegram, and Reddit.
