Hotel Director – Luxury Cruise Operations

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Hotel Director to lead all hotel operations onboard a luxury cruise ship. This is a senior leadership position responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and team development.
You will oversee multiple departments, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Entertainment, Finance, IT, Cruise Sales, and other onboard revenue-generating areas. Working closely with the Captain and senior leadership team, you will ensure the highest standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all hotel operations onboard.
- Deliver outstanding guest satisfaction through exceptional service and effective issue resolution.
- Drive departmental performance against operational and financial targets.
- Manage budgets, revenue, expenses, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Develop and motivate department leaders while fostering a positive team culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and increase onboard revenue.
- Maintain company standards across all guest-facing areas.
- Collaborate with senior officers to ensure smooth day-to-day ship operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel or cruise environment or experience in high volume hotel (more than 1000 rooms).
- Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing large, multicultural teams.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of budgeting, operations, and strategic planning.
- Understanding of guest service excellence and hospitality standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
