Position Title: Athletic Gameday Staff – Seasonal (Ticket Seller/Taker, Event Usher, Event Parking Attendant, Game Day Video Production Crew, Scorer’s Table Staff)


About Augustana University:

Augustana University is located in the growing and vibrant city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a metro area of over 265,000 people. Augustana University has, for more than 150 years, provided a strong student-centric education based on its five core values: Christian faith, liberal arts, excellence, community and service. Guided by Viking Bold: The Journey to 2030, the comprehensive strategic plan for Augustana University, Augustana Athletics' vision for the foreseeable future is twofold: 1. Build a nationally competitive men's hockey program that competes at the Division I level 2. Win the Division II Learfield Director's Cup celebrating broad based excellence.

With the addition of the $70 million Midco Arena, Augustana Athletics is launched the first collegiate hockey program in South Dakota in 2023 and is also the first athletics program to compete at Division I that calls Sioux Falls home. Currently with 21 NCAA Division II sports programs, Augustana Athletics is focused on building champions in the classroom, in competition and in the community, highlighted by three team national championships since 2016. Viking Athletics finished #7 nationally in the Division II Learfield Director’s Cup in 2021-22 and also won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All Sports Award.

Athletic Gameday Staff – Seasonal (Multiple Positions - Ticket Seller/Taker, Event Usher, Event Parking Attendant, Game Day Video Production Crew, Scorer’s Table Staff )

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work athletic seasonal competitions to include the following Augustana Athletic programs –
    • Football
    • Women’s Volleyball
    • Men’s Basketball
    • Women’s Basketball
    • Men’s Ice Hockey
    • Women’s Acrobatics & Tumbling
    • Men’s Swimming & Diving
    • Women’s Swimming & Diving
    • Women’s Softball
    • Baseball
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming environment in line with facility policies.
  • Serve in one of the following roles:
    • Ticket Seller/Taker: Operate ticketing software to sell and scan tickets efficiently. Provide information about seating and event access, and handle guest inquiries at entry points.
    • Event Usher: Guide guests to their correct seating, monitor assigned sections for safety and crowd control, and provide directions to amenities such as restrooms, concession stands, and merchandise areas. Serve as a primary point of contact for guest assistance within the arena.
    • Event Parking Attendant: Oversee event parking lots, direct traffic flow, assist guests with parking instructions, and handle payment transactions as needed.
    • Game Day Video Production Crew: Assist in live-streaming athletic events and managing game day video board content. Operate cameras, switchboards, and other production equipment under supervision.
    • Scorer’s Table Staff: Support official game operations by managing the scoreboard, game clock, and in-game statistics. Collaborate with officials and game administration to ensure accurate and timely updates.
  • Report attendee issues to game administration.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to enhance guest experience.
  • Maintain order and enforce safety rules.

Required Qualifications:

  • No experience needed, but willing to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Athletic Game Day Management (Ticket Seller/Taker & Ushers): Prior experience supporting or coordinating operations during athletic events, including familiarity with venue protocols, crowd control, and customer service in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Game Day Video Production Crew: Strongly preferred experience in video production, including live streaming, operating production cameras, and managing in-game content for video boards. Proficiency with video editing software, broadcasting equipment, and technical troubleshooting is highly valued.
  • Scorer’s Table Staff: Experience working with in-game statistical software (e.g., NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew), radio communication systems, and scoreboard/clock operations. Attention to detail, timing accuracy, and ability to communicate effectively with officials and game administrators are essential.
