Overview
The primary responsibility of the Event Coordinator position at the Greensboro Aquatic Center is to organize, assign, review, and participate in developing, implementing, and administering Aquatic Special Events and services. This position will assist the Aquatic Center Department Manager and Events Manager in hosting Local, Regional, National and International Swimming, Diving, Artistic Swimming, Water Polo, Special Meets and Events.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $22.00 to $25.00.

This position will remain open until July 24, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and participate in all aspects of move-in and set-up for meets.
  • Work closely with the meet host to determine general production and space specifications for meets and other aquatic special events, including move-in, deck layouts, competition or special event services, and move-out.
  • Prepare an event information report including equipment and staffing requirements; arrange catered meals; and coordinate with other Greensboro Complex departments to ensure multi-event use coverage between GAC and other Greensboro Complex events, including operations and staff use for concessions, tickets and box office, security, parking, event staff (crowd coordinators and ushers), and housekeeping.
  • Inspect set-up and preparations to ensure compliance with event requirements.
  • Coordinate with Aquatic Center staff and Event Operations during events, including Lifeguards, Event Staff (Crowd Coordinators and Ushers), and Housekeeping.
  • Participate in a variety of duties during the event, including Meet Host, routine and emergency maintenance and equipment set-up, meet administration and technical support, opening/closing duties.
  • Prepare the monthly event staffing schedule; notify employees and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare event labor and other related reports including event budgets and summary reporting.
  • Serve as GAC representative for staff meetings with other department staff and committees as needed.
  • Maintain social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Create and publish content to support marketing initiatives and enhance brand visibility across social media platforms.
  • Coordinate with the Greensboro Complex Marketing Team, Greensboro Sports Foundation, and Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote sports tourism through collaborative advertising efforts.
  • Maintain in-venue advertisement system that displays various marketing content.
  • Create and design assigned content, including presentations, flyers, documents, collages, event logos, and signage.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1-2 Years of Event Planning Experience.
  • Strong Customer Service Experience.
  • Experience with maintaining social media accounts a plus.
  • Software Skills (Word and Excel Required). Event Software/Canva/Adobe Programs.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
