Job description

Crosswater Grille is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and professional Host to be the first point of contact for our guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere and takes pride in delivering exceptional service from the moment guests arrive. The Host/Hostess is the first person the guest is greeted by when entering the restaurant.  This is the person who is going to make the biggest first impression on our guests.  This is, in turn, the person who must have the biggest smile and warmest personality.  Attitude, appearance, and professionalism are crucial as they assist guests with inquiries, reservations, and service in the restaurants.

The Host/Hostess/Greeter will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. He/She/They shall strive to deliver exceptional service to all internal and external guests at all times. In this role, they are responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture and actively supporting our Vision and Mission to be the destination of choice for our guests, owners, and associates.


  • Clock in and check in with the manager-on-duty.
  • Greet and welcome every guest as they enter the lodge restaurants. Acknowledge and thank all guests as they depart.
  • Confirm the number of people in each party and inquire if there are any special needs or requests.
  • Record necessary information on waiting lists when the restaurant is full.
  • Use proper paging procedures when paging anyone (this applies when a wait list is active).
  • Escort every guest to the table, hand out menus, and ensure table(s) are properly set up.
  • Ensure even seating of the restaurant by seating the tables in proper rotation.
  • Maximize the seating of the restaurant. (Put two’s on two-top, etc…)
  • Use proper telephone procedures.
  • Assist servers with refilling beverages and/or clearing tables as directed by the manager-on-duty.
  • Complete assigned side work. (Trading out menus at shift change, stocking supplies)
  • Comply with all Sunriver policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Train and welcome new hosts/hostesses.
  • Lead and direct the flow of service and reservations by coaching host team members.
  • Communicate guest information and feedback with the manager-on-duty.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to personally lift up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis;
  • Must be able to occasionally lift over 40 lbs with assistance;
  • Must be able to bend, squat crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces and reach a on a continuous basis.
