Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Cross Country & Track will play a vital role in supporting the coaching staff in all aspects of the cross country and track & field programs.
This is a 10-month position designed for a graduate student pursuing a degree at Concord university.
The GA will assist in training, recruiting, event planning, administrative tasks, and athlete development for both men's and women's teams.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical coaching experience while working with athletes in a dynamic and competitive collegiate athletic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily practice sessions for cross country and track & field athletes.
  • Provide guidance and support during training sessions, including warm-ups, drills, and conditioning.
  • Attend and assist with team practices, workouts, and competitions (including travel, if needed).
  • Monitor athletes' physical and academic progress and communicate with the coaching staff to ensure overall success.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including identifying and evaluating potential student-athletes.
  • Attend recruiting events and help with campus visits for prospective athletes.
  • Assist with meet preparation and coordination, including entries, travel arrangements, and logistics.
  • Assist with organizing team meetings, events, and communication with athletes.
  • Aid in the planning and execution of team camps, fundraising events, and community outreach programs.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Head Men's and Women's XC and Track Coach, and Athletic Directors
