As a Private Banker focused on the Latin American region, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and families, helping them preserve, grow, and transfer wealth across generations. You will leverage Santander's global private banking platform, open architecture investment model, and strong partnership with our local banks in the region to deliver tailored solutions aligned with each client's financial objectives.
Our global presence, combined with deep knowledge of local markets, allows us to offer clients a holistic perspective across investments, credit, wealth planning, daily banking, cross-border transactions, and customized financing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Private Banker will manage and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth clients with a minimum of $4MM in liquid/investable assets. As the primary relationship manager, you will be responsible for deepening existing relationships, acquiring new clients, and delivering a high-touch client experience in partnership with investment, credit, and product specialists.
In this role, you will:
  • Build, manage, and retain relationships with HNW clients connected to the Latin America region.
  • Grow Assets Under Management by acquiring new clients, increasing share of wallet, and deepening existing relationships.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, coordinating across investment advisory, credit, banking, and wealth planning teams.
  • Partner closely with Investment Advisors on a shared client portfolio to deliver customized investment and advisory solutions.
  • Provide timely market and investment insights, helping clients evaluate opportunities and make informed portfolio decisions.
  • Identify cross-border banking, lending, and investment needs, leveraging Santander's global platform.
  • Develop targeted business development strategies to expand the client base and maximize cross-business opportunities.
  • Ensure all client activity is conducted in accordance with KYC, AML, suitability, and cross-border regulatory requirements.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is an experienced private banker or business development professional with a proven ability to acquire, develop, and retain high-net-worth client relationships in Latin America. You are commercially driven, highly relationship-oriented, and comfortable working in a team-based advisory model to deliver sophisticated solutions to clients and families.
Education
Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent professional experience.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record building and managing a book of HNW clients, across different countries in Latin America.
  • Demonstrated success meeting AUM, net new money, and client acquisition targets.
  • Strong knowledge of investments, wealth planning, credit, lending, and risk management.
  • Experience working with cross-border clients and complex international wealth needs.
  • Strong understanding of KYC, AML, suitability, and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with investment advisors, product specialists, and internal partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency or professional proficiency in Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Conversational Spanish preferred.
  • Existing network of HNW or UHNW relationships in the Latin America region is highly desirable.

The salary for this position in New York City is $165,000-$225,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring employer sponsorship to commence employment.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
