About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Manager, Enrollment (Patient Recruitment & Enrollment Manager) to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing Enrollment Services within our Early Phase Clinical Unit (EPCU), ensuring clinical research studies are enrolled on time, within budget, and in compliance with sponsor protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulations.
The Associate Manager, Enrollment will lead teams responsible for patient recruitment, screening, and marketing initiatives that support enrollment goals across a portfolio of clinical studies. Working closely with Clinical Operations, Business Development, Medical, Project Management, and other key stakeholders, you will help develop and execute recruitment strategies that accelerate study delivery while maintaining a positive participant experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a combination of recruitment, patient enrollment, and marketing experience, ideally within a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) or clinical healthcare environment, who is passionate about connecting patients with clinical research opportunities.
Please note, this role is 100% on-site at our Baltimore, MD unit (no remote work).
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop recruitment, screening, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality enrollment services for clinical research studies.
  • Oversee study recruitment performance, screening metrics, and enrollment progress to ensure timelines and business objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and execute innovative patient recruitment, marketing, and community outreach strategies to support clinical study enrollment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Clinical Operations, Medical, Project Management, Business Development, and Quality to support study execution and enrollment goals.
  • Review study feasibility and provide recommendations on inclusion and exclusion criteria to improve recruitment efficiency and participant access.
  • Represent Parexel at client meetings, feasibility discussions, and industry events, presenting enrollment capabilities and patient recruitment strategies.
  • Manage staff performance, development, and resource allocation while fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and operational excellence across enrollment functions.
  • Contribute to the development, review, implementation, and training of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with sponsor requirements, GCP, SOPs, and applicable regulatory standards.

  • 2+ years of experience within clinical research, pharmaceutical development, healthcare, patient recruitment, enrollment operations, or a related field.
  • Experience leading or coordinating teams, projects, or operational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting recruitment, marketing, enrollment, or participant engagement efforts.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the organization professionally.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a Contract Research Organization (CRO).
  • Experience developing and executing patient recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • Knowledge of FDA-regulated clinical research and drug development processes.
  • Experience with early phase clinical research studies.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.

The potential base pay range for this role is $80,000 to $99,000 annually. The actual salary offered may vary within this range based on several factors, including skills, education, training, experience, professional achievements, and location.
Some roles may also be eligible for additional incentives, bonuses, or other compensation programs. Our Talent Acquisition team will provide details on applicable bonus plans or incentive structures for eligible positions.
