Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our outstanding team. Key Responsibilities
As a Phlebotomist at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, you will handle a variety of tasks essential to our laboratory operations. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Collecting accurate and adequate blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture technique, following established laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Identifying patients' protocols, collecting and labeling all specimens accurately, and detailing collection information.
  • Reviewing outstanding specimen reports for the laboratory, microbiology, and blood bank during your shift to identify any uncollected tests and taking appropriate action.
  • Processing outpatients accurately, providing instructions and supplies for specimen collection.
  • Delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory section in a timely manner.
  • Accurately processing all orders in accordance with turnaround time policies.
  • Communicating, documenting, and following up on unclear or discrepant orders, and reporting any issues to the Supervisor or Director.
  • Performing clerical tasks accurately, including the use of the laboratory computer system.
  • Maintaining phlebotomy and meals/breaks logs accurately and timely.
  • Knowing and applying criteria for specimen rejection.

SHIFT: 10:00PM- 6:30AM
Qualifications
Experience:
  • One (1) year of acute care experience, preferred

Education:
  • High School diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED), required
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred

License/Certification:
  • Current Phlebotomy licensure in the State of California, required
