The ideal candidate will use their expertise to de-escalate tense situations, develop proactive action plans, and assess the need for involuntary psychiatric detention when necessary.

As a Mental Health Crisis Specialist, you will collaborate with law enforcement officers, hospitals, and community organizations to address urgent mental health needs. The remote setting enables you to manage client communications and assessments efficiently while working with an integrated team dedicated to mental health advocacy.

• Provide immediate mental health support to individuals experiencing crises, conducting on-site evaluations as required by law enforcement.
• Collaborate with police personnel by training them on effectively addressing mental health situations, aiming to de-escalate incidents and minimize the use of force.
• Engage in case management by liaising with third-party agencies, including the Department of Mental Health and local psychiatric facilities, to coordinate care and monitor patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions and treatment outcomes in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of personalized action plans for clients requiring hospitalization or shelter, including checking the availability of suitable options.
• Provide short-term crisis counseling to non-violent individuals at risk, facilitating their immediate safety and well-being.
• Support ongoing communication between stakeholders such as law enforcement, healthcare professionals, and families throughout the crisis intervention process.

This role specifically focuses on individuals facing acute mental health challenges, including those in crisis situations related to arrests. You will engage with diverse populations, ensuring respectful and compassionate care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Your ability to establish rapport and provide effective interventions will be crucial to improving client outcomes and enhancing overall community safety.

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California.
• A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling efficient interaction with clients, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals.
• Strong attention to detail and integrity in handling confidential patient information.
• Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to stay calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Proficient in time management and multitasking.

• Previous clinical experience in psychiatric settings is preferred.
• Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Experience working collaboratively with law enforcement or crisis intervention teams.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $122,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
