About Crimson Design Group

At Crimson Design Group, we have spent the past two decades transforming spaces into extraordinary experiences, as the premier interior design firm based in Columbus, working nationally. We specialize in innovative designs for residential, hospitality, multi-family, and senior living projects. Our commitment is to deliver bold and beautiful interiors encapsulating the signature "Crimson Experience," and a life well lived. Crimson Design brings our clients' stories to life.

CDG Core Values:

You must be passionate about our culture and must strive to ensure that all interactions reflect our culture and our core values.

  • Excellence: Takes initiative, dedication, can-do attitude, sense of urgency.
  • Crimson Spirit: Contributes, values everyone, team player, goes to the source.
  • Life Lived Well: Fun, optimistic, no drama, servant heart.
  • Growth Mindset: Ownership thinking, innovative, curious.

The Role:

The National Account Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing high-value client relationships, and converting leads into signed design and/or FF&E contracts. You will help develop the firm's sales strategy, manage the client journey, and ensure a seamless handoff to the design team.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the interior design industry, excellent communication and networking skills, and a proven track record of success in "hunting" sales and business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively identify and pursue new project leads in target markets for both the residential and commercial sectors nationwide. This includes, but is not limited to, networking, attending industry events, leveraging online resources, and developing targeted outreach strategies.
  • Client Relationship Management: Create, build, and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, builders, real estate agents, and other key referral sources. Cultivate relationships with potential clients through personalized communication and presentations.
  • Sales Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to beat revenue targets. Qualify leads, prepare compelling proposals and presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Client Journey: This is yours to own from the initial strategy/outreach through to the handoff with the design team.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the interior design industry. Proactively identify potential niches and areas for growth.
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials, participate in marketing events, and contribute to the firm's overall marketing strategy.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Maintain accurate records of sales activities within our CRM, track KPI progress towards goals, and provide weekly/monthly reports to management.
  • Networking & Community Engagement: Actively participate in industry associations, networking events, and community activities to promote the firm and build relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales/business development required, preferably within the luxury design/architecture, construction, or real estate industry, pitching to commercial developers and residential clients. Experience building a sales organization is a plus.
  • Proven track record of success as a "Hunter" in generating leads, closing deals, and building client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the interior design process and market.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in CRM software (we use Pipedrive) and Google Workplace Suite.
  • Strong networking skills and a passion for building relationships.
  • Knowledge of the Columbus, OH market is a plus.

Why Crimson?

  • Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a competitive salary + commission.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance, and company-paid short- and long-term disability.
  • 401(k): Employer match after one year of service.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous PTO, including a week off during Christmas, in a fun, team-oriented culture.
  • Growth Opportunity: Play a key role in scaling a premier design firm with a national reputation for excellence.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to drive to events.
  • Must be able to handle loads up to 10lbs., sometimes up to 20lbs.
