What are CRFs in clinical research?

CRFs, or Case Report Forms, are specialized documents used in clinical research to systematically collect data from each participant in a clinical trial. They serve as a tool for recording information required by the study protocol, including patient demographics, treatment details, and study outcomes. CRFs can be paper-based or electronic (eCRFs), and their accuracy is critical to ensuring the reliability and integrity of clinical trial data. Researchers and clinical staff use CRFs to ensure consistent data collection and facilitate regulatory compliance throughout a study.
