Job description

As a Field Technician 2, you'll play a key role in ensuring a smooth technology experience across the organization. Through strong technical skills, thoughtful problem-solving, and collaboration, you'll help resolve issues efficiently while supporting a positive co-worker experience.
What You'll Do (Your Impact)
  • Provide technical support for co-worker technology, including laptops/desktops, applications, systems, networks, and other devices.
  • Deliver onsite, desk-side, and remote support in partnership with internal teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve incidents efficiently, contributing to reduced resolution times and high first-contact resolution rates.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and implement solutions to prevent future disruptions.
  • Escalate or assign complex issues appropriately to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, service requests, and workflows to support consistent service delivery.
  • Collaborate across teams to provide seamless and integrated technology support.
  • Serve as a resource for other Field Technicians by sharing knowledge, guidance, and mentorship.
  • Deliver service in a co-worker-centric manner aligned with Summit's service, communication, and Essential Behavior standards.

What You Bring
  • Associate degree in an IT-related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • A+ Certification required.
  • Technical certifications in Microsoft, Google, or Apple preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Chrome OS in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and collaboration tools.
  • Strong understanding of data security practices and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers. The employee may occasionally reach above and below shoulder level and lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 10 pounds.
Environmental/Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches may require exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
Equipment Used
A variety of office equipment, including telephone, printer, PC, and mobile devices.
