ABOUT THE NORTHERN TEXAS PGA
The Northern Texas PGA is one of 41 sections of The PGA of America and has a membership of more than 1,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals. The Northern Texas PGA's objective is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. The PGA of America, the Northern Texas PGA and its member golf professionals are recognized as the leaders in the world of golf today.
NORTHERN TEXAS PGA MISSIONThe Northern Texas PGA staff's mission is to serve PGA of America golf professionals and grow the game by managing the day-to-day affairs of the Section. The Northern Texas PGA also operates the Northern Texas PGA Foundation and The Ronny Golf Park.

JOB SUMMARY
The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time internship in tournament administration during the Fall of 2026. Successful applicants will be responsible for helping with the day-to-day tournament administration of Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour tournaments. In the Fall season, the Junior Tour provides weekly golf tournaments throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for junior golfers ages 7-19.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contact host facility professional staff to collect and confirm tournament information
  • Work extensively with BlueGolf (tournament management software) to create pairings, manage registrations, organize reports, and communicate with players
  • Assist junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectators by answering questions and providing superior-quality customer service
  • Assemble tournament information packet including printing, organizing, and checking tournament documents & awards
  • Support Junior Tour programs like Points Challenge, Caddie Program, and Membership Packets through daily and various tasks
  • Inform and enforce Junior Tour Rules & Regulations including Rules of Golf, Caddie Program, and Pace of Play
  • Provide support to select Section and Foundation operations through various on-site responsibilities (as needed)

TOURNAMENT TRAVEL
The Fall Administration Intern will work from the Northern Texas PGA office Monday-Friday. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to and from all tournaments as well as to and from the Northern Texas PGA office in Frisco.
FALL SCHEDULE
On average, interns can expect to work 35-40 hours per week. Tournament administration interns will primarily work from the NTPGA office Monday through Friday and may include an occasional weekend event.
QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE
Required:
  • Has or is pursuing a college degree (third or fourth-year students preferred)
  • Has automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
  • Has existing insurance (through school or parents)
  • Exhibits ability to work and communicate effectively in a team-based environment
  • General computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office, Smartphone Apps)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work early mornings
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather and temperatures
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds, i.e. tents, tables, stakes, and championship signage
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart
  • Ability to stand and move around on foot for extended periods of time
  • Ability to speak publicly
  • Effectively able to use and operate cell phones, tablets, and hand-held radios

Preferred:
  • Basic knowledge of the game and rules of golf
  • Interest in a career in golf or sports administration

COMPENSATION
  • Interns are compensated at a rate of $10.00 per hour (before taxes)
  • Interns are compensated at a rate of $15.00 per hour if / when they work more than 40 hours per week (before taxes)
  • Interns are guaranteed a minimum of $600 (before taxes) per two-week pay period during the season
  • NTPGA staff uniforms including golf shirts and hats will be provided
  • Playing and practicing privileges at the NTPGA Golf Park and select golf courses in the area
  • School credit (if applicable)

HOUSING
The Northern Texas PGA does not provide housing of any kind but will be more than happy to assist with the location of housing for those unfamiliar with the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Past interns have utilized corporate housing agencies for fully furnished apartment leases, secured house leases through Airbnb, or utilized extended-stay hotels. Those with family or friends in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex are welcome to stay there and are in no way obligated to live with other interns.
