Description
Assistant Wrestling Coach/Girls
Timpview High School is seeking a motivated, positive, and student-focused Assistant Wrestling Coach to join our wrestling program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Wrestling Coach to provide a positive and competitive experience for student-athletes while promoting academic success, character development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the wrestling program and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Wrestling coaching and/or competitive wrestling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of wrestling techniques, training methods, and competition strategies.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Completion of NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Credential (or willingness to obtain), along with all required UHSAA and Provo City School District coaching certifications.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Wrestling Coach in planning and conducting daily practices and competitions.
  • Teach and reinforce proper wrestling techniques, conditioning, and safety procedures.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team activities.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and respect both on and off the mat.
  • Help monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
  • Assist with tournament preparation, match management, equipment, and uniform distribution.
  • Support the Head Coach with program organization, communication, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Encourage athlete development at all levels of the program.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Comply with all Provo City School District, UHSAA, and NFHS rules, policies, and expectations.
