Job description

The Opportunity

As a Graphic Designer Coordinator 4 you will provide conceptual and graphic design support for information dissemination, outreach campaigns, marketing efforts, proposals, and other design tasks as assigned. You will offer on-demand creative recommendations for delivering Abt's mission through enhanced visual applications; adhere to brand guidelines and/or style requirements for projects as directed; advise on creative-related needs during project meetings; and work with project and proposal teams to enhance our work products across USG federal agencies. This temporary role is expected to be 20 hours per week (and may fluctuate) through March 26, 2027.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support a broad range of graphic design and other communications assignments primarily within our client markets, including but not limited to HUD, CMS, EPA, DOL, and VA.

  • Design and produce a variety of communications products, including but not limited to:outreach campaigns, brochures, programs, information sheets, conference materials, infographics, training manuals, website content, reports and presentations, and other custom products.

  • Analyze project strategy, goals, and target audience; plan creative approach and execute visual solutions to information dissemination and communications-related tasks.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, communications strategists, and clients to deliver creative products for print and digital media across a variety of market areas.

  • Use a variety of production applications, including generative AI production, to deliver the most appropriate solution.

  • Support projects involving stakeholder communications and interactions leveraging principles of human-centered design to ensure readability, accessibility, and usability.ย 

  • Support project teams in designing and implementing presentations or training materials for government executives and program managers.

  • Support business development and proposal efforts by providing graphics to illustrate various concepts of operations, process diagrams, charts, or other infographics as needed.

  • Support the development of customer-facing presentations for marketing purposes.

What We Value

  • High school Diploma + Six years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree + Four years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, multimedia production, or related design field for US Government clients

  • Expertise in both Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects, Premiere Pro) and generative AI production tools including styles, formatting, and professional presentation of communications products

  • Experience designing visuals for proposals for USG agencies, businesses, academic institutions, or non-profits, and working in partnership with proposal teams to strategize proposal development.

  • Must be able to simplify complex ideas into visually compelling solutions, including infographics or other data visualization techniques

  • Demonstrated skills in use of typography, color schemes, and design elements to create a balanced composition in any medium.

  • Demonstrated skills in branding and its application across different media.

  • Experience in multimedia editing and training software including ScreenFlow and Articulate Storyline preferred

  • Understanding of 508 compliance and accessibility requirements.
