Job description

Responsibilities will include working with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation to coordinate and facilitate a program of social, recreational, and creative arts activities for our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents. Activities may include drama, dance, music, painting, drawing, pottery, exercise, weaving, creative writing, gardening, field trips, etc.

Schedule: We're looking for someone who has availability weekdays and weekends. Weekdays can be flexible. 


Mon. 9-12, Wed. 9-12, Friday 9-4:30, Saturday 9-4:30

Sun: 9-4:30, Mon. 9-12, Wed. 9-12, Thursday 9-4:30, Fri and weekend off.

Total 20 hours a week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Develops, publicizes, implements, and evaluates short and long term programs for residents in the areas of social and recreational activities and creative arts, including but not limited to:

a. Promotion of drama, dance, music, painting, drawing, pottery, exercise, weaving, creative writing, gardening, and other crafts.

            b. Planning and coordination of field trips, special events and guest speakers/artists.

c. Coordination with and solicitation of appropriate community resources to promote resident participation in the community and involvement of the community.

2. Keeps records of resident participation and interest.

3. Coordinates with other staff members relating to scheduling of events and use of facilities and services on committees as needed.

4. Understands and supports the philosophy and mission of the facility.

5. Conveys a professional and caring image.

6. Abides by residents' rights.
