Active Top Secret (TS) clearance/SCI
Ability to work onsite at Offutt AFB, NE

Technical Writer

  • The contractor shall conduct documentation needs assessments, gap analysis, and develop and maintain a documentation roadmap aligned with product release schedules and stakeholder priorities.
  • The contractor shall define and implement documentation standards, style guides, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency and quality across all software development products.
  • The contractor shall author, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including user guides, administrator guides, API reference documentation, integration guides, release notes, and system architecture documentation.
  • The contractor shall develop best practices guides, troubleshooting documentation, FAQs, and knowledge based articles to support users and reduce support burden.
  • The contractor shall design and produce visual aids including diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, process maps, and infographics to enhance documentation clarity and usability.
  • The contractor shall conduct discussions with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to gather technical information and facilitate documentation reviews with stakeholders to ensure accuracy.
  • The contractor shall conduct peer reviews, perform technical editing, and execute regular audits of existing documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and ensure all changes to date have been incorporated.
  • The contractor shall analyze user feedback, documentation metrics, and usage analytics, and conduct user research to understand documentation needs and identify improvement opportunities.
  • The contractor shall identify, recommend, and implement documentation process improvements on products it is using and developing, and evaluate new documentation tools and technologies for adoption.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience authoring, editing, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, to include user guides, API reference documentation, release notes, and knowledge based articles.
  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience conducting documentation needs assessments, defining documentation standards and style guides, and developing a documentation roadmap.
  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience designing and producing visual aids, to include diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics, to enhance documentation clarity and usability.
  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience collaborating with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers as well as customers to gather technical information and facilitate documentation reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience conducting peer reviews, performing technical edits, and analyzing user feedback and usage analytics to verify accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated three (3) or more years of experience identifying and implementing documentation process improvements and evaluating new documentation tools and technologies for adoption.
