Marketing Intern
REPORTS TO: Marketing amp; Sales Director and Marketing Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
PAY RATE: $19.50 per hour
ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS UNTIL: August 19th, 2026
ANTICIPATED FILL DATE: August 23rd, 2026

JOB SUMMARY: This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of marketing functions, including social media, content creation, public relations, graphic design, promotions, partnerships and special events, including Fright Fest and Elitch Holidays.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the planning, promotion and execution of seasonal campaigns, broadcast promotions, media events, sponsorship activations, festivals, Season Pass program and special events
  • Support marketing efforts for major seasonal events, including Fright Fest and Elitch Holidays
  • Develop, write and review content for social media, email, the Elitch Gardens website, press releases and other marketing materials
  • Capture photo and video content throughout the park for use across digital and traditional marketing channels
  • Assist with the creation of social media content, including short-form videos for Instagram and TikTok
  • Maintain and organize the park’s photo and video library
  • Facilitate media visits, influencer experiences, promotional appearances and community outreach opportunities
  • Coordinate the planning and on-site execution of park events, group outings and promotional activations
  • Communicate event information and marketing needs with appropriate departments
  • Monitor and respond to guest questions, comments and concerns across appropriate communication channels while providing excellent customer service
  • Assist the Group Sales Department with group outings, client communications, event preparation and other projects as needed
  • Provide support for general park operations, guest admission or Season Pass processing when needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe and professional work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or a related field of study; or be in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in a related area of study
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Comfortable creating photo, video and written content for digital platforms
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office or similar programs is preferred
  • Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
  • Creative, proactive and enthusiastic, with a positive, self-starter attitude
  • Highly motivated, organized and comfortable managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with guests, team members, partners and members of the media
  • Willing and able to work in various weather conditions
  • Available from August through January, including select evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have flexible availability, particularly during Fright Fest and Elitch Holidays

  • Requires occasional standing, kneeling, and bending. Must be able to sit up for up to eight hours a shift
  • Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
  • Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 30 pounds and on occasion carry up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range) (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty)
