St Charles Community College seeks a full time Dean of Business,Technology, and Performing Arts to provide strategic, academic,and operational leadership for programs in business, technology,applied technology, digital / creative arts, and performing arts. The Dean oversees curriculum, assessment, scheduling, staffing,budgeting, program development, and continuous improvement tosupport student success, workforce readiness, transferopportunities, and institutional priorities.

The Dean will be expected to lead with innovation and vision,supporting programs that prepare students for a rapidly changingworkforce shaped by artificial intelligence, automation, virtualand augmented reality, immersive learning environments, digitaldesign, cybersecurity, data analytics, entrepreneurship, andemerging creative technologies. The Dean will also champion theintersection of technology and creativity, supporting programswhere artistic practice, digital production, entrepreneurship, andemerging tools converge to prepare students for careers in theever-evolving creative economy and workforce. The Dean will workcollaboratively across the College to expand academic pathways,strengthen transfer and career opportunities, and promoteexcellence in teaching, learning, and student achievement.

This position leads innovation across the division by supportingemerging technologies, interdisciplinary learning, creativeproduction, workforce partnerships, and academic pathways thatprepare students for evolving careers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for divisional programs, operations,budgets, staffing, scheduling, assessment, and long-rangeplanning.
  • Ensure academic quality, student success, workforce alignment,and continuous program improvement.
  • Lead curriculum development, program review, assessment ofstudent learning, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Support faculty and staff through hiring, evaluation, professional development, assignment, and performancemanagement.
  • Advance innovative instructional practices and deliveryformats, including online, hybrid, evening, weekend, dual credit,dual enrollment, and accelerated learning.
  • Provides leadership for immersive and experiential learningopportunities, including virtual environments, creative productionspaces, technology labs, maker spaces, studios, performance spaces,and other specialized instructional environments.
  • Leads division-wide efforts to thoughtfully and responsiblyintegrate artificial intelligence and emerging technologies intocurriculum, assignments, classroom practices, student projects,creative production, and workforce preparation, ensuring facultyare supported and students are prepared for AI-augmentedcareers.
  • Support the integration of emerging technologies, includingartificial intelligence, immersive learning, simulation, digitalmedia, cybersecurity, data analytics, and creativetechnologies.
  • Oversee instructional spaces, technology labs, studios, performance spaces, equipment, software, and other specializedlearning environments.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with business and industry,K-12 schools, universities, community organizations, advisorycommittees, and workforce partners.
  • Support credit and non-credit pathways, stackable credentials,transfer agreements, apprenticeships, credit for prior learning,and industry-recognized credentials.
  • Assist with accreditation, grants, institutional reporting,compliance, and resource development.
  • Leads and/or assists with reporting related to accreditation,grants, specialized program requirements, advisory committeerecommendations, workforce initiatives, and institutionaleffectiveness.
  • Identifies strategies for developing new programs and evaluating existing programs to ensure ongoing relevance,enrollment growth, student success, and alignment with regionalworkforce and transfer needs.
  • Promote collaboration across business, technology, digitalmedia, and performing arts disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, creativity,accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Supports the role of the performing arts, digital media, andcreative disciplines as essential components of the College'sacademic, cultural, and community identity, while also advancingconnections to emerging technologies and creative industrypathways.
  • Represent the division on College committees, communityinitiatives, workforce groups, and external partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a fieldrelated to business, technology, computer science, digital media,performing arts, leadership, or a related discipline. (Anequivalent mix of executive-level education and deep industryexperience will also be highly valued.)
  • At least 5 years of professional experience driving successwithin business, technology, the performing arts, workforcetraining, or a related industry ecosystem.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience leading teams,managing complex operations, or steering organizationalstrategy.
  • Proven experience overseeing budgets, managing projectlifecycles or program development, scheduling resources, andsupporting the professional growth of your team.
  • A strong grasp of how modern and emerging technologies-such asAI, automation, VR/AR, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digitaldesign-are reshaping workforce preparation, modern industries, andcreative production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A proven track record of managing initiatives or departmentsfocused on business, cybersecurity, tech infrastructure, digitalmedia, engineering tech, or entrepreneurship.
  • Experience building talent pipelines, workforceapprenticeships, industry advisory boards, or corporate trainingpartnerships.
  • Hands-on experience implementing cutting-edge tools (e.g., AIintegration, virtual/augmented reality, 3D design, simulation, ordigital fabrication) into team workflows, production environments,or training programs.
  • Experience supporting or leading initiatives in audioproduction, game design, interactive media, esports, sound design,or creative entrepreneurship.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted creative tools, including generativedesign, AI-supported media tools, or advanced digital storytellingplatforms.
  • Experience navigating structured compliance,corporate/government grants, or managing specialized project-levelfunding.
  • A knack for breaking down silos and designing cross-functionalprojects that blend technical skills, artistic practice, andbusiness acumen.
