Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Writer based in Netherlands.

As a Technical Writer, you will join a global, remote-first environment where you will shape how developers and technical users interact with complex software solutions. You will own documentation for key product areas, working closely with engineering, product, and design teams to create clear, accurate, and impactful content. This role combines technical expertise, content strategy, and product collaboration to improve the user experience. You will become a subject matter expert, helping users successfully adopt and use advanced technologies. You will also contribute to improving documentation processes, tooling, and infrastructure. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast-growing technology environment while helping transform how teams build and use modern software platforms.

Accountabilities

As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will help ensure that documentation is an essential part of the product experience and enables users to achieve success.

  • Own documentation for one or more product areas, acting as the dedicated technical writing partner for product teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to understand product developments and ensure documentation remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with releases.
  • Build deep expertise in assigned product areas by testing technologies and creating documentation based on real-world user needs.
  • Manage documentation projects from planning and writing through review, publication, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Advocate for user-focused documentation and bring customer perspectives into product discussions.
  • Continuously improve documentation structure, clarity, and completeness using analytics, feedback, and internal insights.
  • Partner with other technical writers and documentation specialists to share best practices and improve standards.
  • Support the maintenance and evolution of documentation infrastructure, including build tools, deployment workflows, and documentation platforms.
Requirements:

You are a technically skilled writer who can translate complex concepts into accessible and valuable content for a wide range of audiences. You combine strong writing abilities with hands-on technical experience and a collaborative mindset.

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, with a portfolio including developer documentation such as user guides, installation guides, API references, tutorials, or technical articles.
  • Experience understanding, testing, and documenting complex software products and technical environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of technologies such as Java, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and related developer tools.
  • Experience writing documentation for SaaS products, on-premise software, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Ability to adapt content for different audiences, including software engineers, developers, business analysts, and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows, Git, Markdown, AI-assisted workflows, and documentation frameworks such as Docusaurus.
  • Willingness and ability to use the product ecosystem you will be documenting.
  • Experience maintaining documentation platforms, deployment pipelines, or technical infrastructure is a plus.
  • Software engineering experience or proficiency in programming languages is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to contribute to and improve technical writing standards and style guidelines across teams.
Benefits:

The company offers a competitive compensation package and a flexible work environment designed to support employees worldwide.

  • Competitive, transparent compensation based on location, skills, experience, and market conditions.
  • Salary ranges include:
    • United States: $102,300.00 to $164,900.00 annual total target cash.
    • United Kingdom: 64,200.00 to 105,600.00 annual total target cash.

  • Equity opportunities where applicable through a virtual stock option plan.
