Position Overview

This position includes teaching after-school music programs at local school partners as well as caregiver-and-child music classes at Chambers Music Studio locations. Additional daytime and early afternoon teaching opportunities may also be available based on your schedule and interests.

This role is ideal for:

Music teaching experience is helpful but not required. We provide curriculum, lesson plans, training, mentorship, and ongoing support.

Schedule & Commitment

This position follows a consistent weekly teaching schedule that aligns with school partnerships and Chambers Music Studio programming.

Current assignments include:

After-School Programs
  • Approximately 3:00 PM-4:30 PM at one partner school
  • Approximately 3:30 PM-5:00 PM at a second partner school
  • Two afternoons per week

Caregiver & Child Music Classes
  • Daytime classes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers

    Our programs operate year-round from August through July. During the school year, instructors follow a consistent schedule aligned with partner school programming and studio classes. Summer schedules are often adjusted to reflect seasonal enrollment and camp offerings, typically providing a slightly lighter teaching load while maintaining consistent employment opportunities. What You'll Do
    • Teach engaging music classes using Chambers Music Studio curriculum
    • Lead singing, movement, rhythm activities, instrument exploration, musical games, and creative play
    • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment 
    • Build positive relationships with children, caregivers, school staff, and fellow team members
    • Follow lesson plans and program expectations
    • Maintain classroom organization and materials
    • Record basic lesson notes, attendance, and student progress updates
    • Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, school staff, and team members
    • Share important information regarding student participation, milestones, and classroom experiences as needed
    • Attend training, meetings, and professional development opportunities as assigned
    • Represent Chambers Music Studio professionally in all settings

    Qualifications

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • Experience working with young children
    • Experience in music education, early childhood education, childcare, preschool, camps, church programs, or similar settings
    • Strong singing and classroom leadership skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Comfortable using basic technology for lesson notes, attendance tracking, and communication
    • Ability to write brief student notes and communicate effectively with families
    • Reliable transportation
    • Ability to transport classroom materials as needed
    • Dependable attendance and punctuality

    Bonus Qualifications
    • Degree in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Music, or a related field
    • Kodaly, Orff, Dalcroze, Music Together, Kindermusik, or similar training
    • Experience teaching group classes
    • Experience leading parent-and-child classes
