Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking an entrepreneurial Sr. Architectural Manager and Principal or Associate Principal to drive the strategic growth and market leadership of our Healthcare practice. In this role, you will be a senior leader in our growing architectural group with over 90 architects and designers spread across a dozen offices. This dynamic individual will continue to build the firm's Healthcare Studio by providing design expertise as part of a creative team while pursuing, leading, and designing a wide variety of healthcare projects.
This role requires a confident client-facing leader with a proven ability to build trusted relationships, advance business development efforts, and represent the firm through public presentations and industry forums. The successful candidate will also be a collaborative team builder, deeply engaged in talent development, marketing strategy, and regional and firmwide practice initiatives.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead design of key healthcare projects across the firm, working closely with our architecture, engineering, business development and marketing teams.
  • Support healthcare market strategy, in concert with the Architecture Group and Firm's strategy, to expand Farnsworth Group's healthcare studio.
  • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients. Support development of marketing materials and participate in proposals, interviews, and key presentations.
  • Mentor mid/ senior level healthcare staff across the country.
  • Key contributions to further define and guide the strategic plan throughout the region.
  • Manage regional business development pursuits including strategic proposal development for the group and coordinating a core group of interior design and architecture professionals to achieve business development and financial goals.
  • Leading and coordinating business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads and securing contracts.
  • Developing and driving marketing plans, budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Developing, reviewing and approving proposals, reports and contract documents.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, from an accredited program, required; Masters, preferred
  • Registered Architect in Illinois/Missouri, NCARB preferred
  • 20+ years of experience in architectural design and planning of facilities within core markets
  • Proven business development experience in the architectural industry, preferably in the Healthcare market
  • Demonstrated technical expertise, proven project management, supervisory and business development experience.
