Job description

Creative Services Specialist

The Creative Services Specialist is responsible for understanding the customer's needs with the creation and execution of branded content-rich materials, while maintaining consistency with business strategies and operational goals. This role, under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Vice President of Organizational Development, will be focused on creating and managing assets as well as developing marketing pieces and content that address internal and external customer needs. This individual will be immersed in many areas of marketing, including the creation of graphics, photography, and videography, as well as the development of copy/content that can be repurposed across multiple outreach channels.ย 

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Creates graphic design projects.
  • Produces videos for use internally and externally, including concept generation, running cameras/audio/lighting, scriptwriting, filming and post-production.
  • Photography, including headshots and events.
  • Creation of written content for various marketing pieces across multiple channels.ย 
  • Coordination of creative services contracted to a third party.

Educational Requirements and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate exceptionally well in English, both verbally and in writing.ย 

Licensure and Certifications ย 

  • Not applicable
  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly organizedย 
  • Minimum of five years of graphic design strongly preferred, with a portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency of visual design principles
  • Firm understanding of print production and management
  • Minimum of five years of experience preferred in videography, coupled with a demonstrated track record of hands-on experience in shooting and producing videos, from concept to post-production
  • Minimum of five years of experience in photography preferred, including studio photography and event photography
  • Write, edit copy, proofread, and repurpose content marketing deliverables (e.g., collateral, web pages, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills with department team, other employees, and management
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal supervision
  • Ability to accept critiques; flexibility in design and ability to accept direction
  • Proficiency with the following software: Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and InDesign
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other Office 365 products
  • Strong independent project management skills

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works the day shift; may be asked to work other hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • May be expected to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish between numbers and symbols.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translating rough sketches and ideas into visually compelling images for communication to a variety of audiences

  • Designing ads based on brand guidelines

  • Creates, modifies, and follows printing specifications for printed marketing piecesย ย ย ย 

  • Media placement

  • Produces promotional and educational videos for internal and external audiences
  • Portrait photography and event photography
  • Copywriting for ads, internal/external communications, social media, etc.ย 
  • Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary
