Job description

Our Opportunity

GPJ is hiring an Estimating Manager to join our growing team.

This role is on-site, requiring you to report to our Las Vegas office location a minimum of 5 days per week.

Your Role

You are the Estimating Manager, and you play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all of our estimating personnel and activities. Your main focus is on ensuring accuracy and top-notch quality while maximizing our margins in various areas, such as fabrication, refurbishment, graphics, and special projects.

You will lead by setting an example for the team, and you will bring with you a strong background in fabrication. You are skilled at interpreting conceptual designs and bidding information, no matter how it's presented.

Depending on the project, your responsibilities might be centered around fabrication exclusively, or you could be in charge of overseeing all aspects of a particular project. It's all about delivering the best results and maintaining high standards throughout the estimation process.

Your Skills

  • Participate in all aspects of fabrication estimating/bid preparations and personnel on a wide variety of industrial trade show, automotive, international, activations, permanent installations, and special event projects 
  • Monitor, review, and adjust workloads between estimating departmental personnel 
  • Enforce comprehensive estimating standards and policies 
  • Engage extensively with international suppliers and contractors to provide global solutions, sourcing and pricing advantages 
  • Provide early collaboration with Account Management and Creative  on projects 
  • Interface regularly with Integrated Production and Account Management to promote smooth estimating process
  • Interface regularly with Design personnel and Design Management to open dialog and a proper flow of information between the two groups 
  • Review and sign-off on estimates and scopes for fabrication projects 
  • Write and conduct yearly performance reviews 
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to less experienced individuals regardless of department 
  • Print, review and distribute a weekly report of all fabrication project and their current financial status.  Alert Senior Management of potential hot projects 
  • Request and provide project projections, and ongoing financial analysis of project to Management 
  • Work closely with Management on Staffing issues 
  • Work as a day to day Estimating Manager with full account and financial responsibilities

You are prepared and organized for meetings and presentations.

Urgency- Decisive, responsive, and fast acting you achieve goals quickly both when working on your own and in collaboration with others. You demonstrate adaptability and agility when making on-the-spot decisions never sacrificing quality or work interactions. Cool under pressure. For the sake of time, you are able to eliminate unnecessary steps and use network resources to aid in project completion.

Your Experience

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Construction Management, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience. 
  • Ability to read/understand engineering drawings and knowledge CAD/CAM manufacturing and fabrication.
