Job description

About the Role

Netflix's Creative Innovation team works at the intersection of storytelling and emerging technology, shaping how new solutions like AI, volumetric capture, and virtual production influence production practices across the Studio and the broader industry. This role sits at the center of that work. You will be an embedded voice in the production community, understanding what creators are trying to do, what tools genuinely solve problems, and where the industry conversation is heading. You will design and facilitate convenings where production realities surface and are debated, represent Netflix’s perspective in industry forums and working groups, synthesize insights into guidance and principles for Netflix teams, and educate internally and externally about where technology matters and where it does not.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and steward relationships with production peers; understand creators’ needs, tool effectiveness, and concerns.
  • Serve as a trusted sounding board, bringing production reality into Netflix’s strategic thinking before decisions are made.
  • Design and facilitate convenings and advisory forums that surface real challenges and learnings from working filmmakers and teams.
  • Translate conversations into guidance updates, principle refinements, and internal learning resources.
  • Own the internal knowledge and education infrastructure, developing frameworks, publications, and learning approaches that build real fluency.
  • Represent Netflix in industry conversations, participating in forums, working groups, and practitioner communities to shape generative production practices.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of direct experience in production, post‑production, or a closely related field with deep familiarity of creative teams’ workflows and tool needs.
  • Authentic relationships and credibility with filmmakers and production peers built through real work and follow‑through.
  • Belief that innovation takes time and that listening, learning, and trust-building are as important as the technology itself.
  • Experience navigating change management in creative or production environments, helping teams move confidently through uncertainty.
  • Clear, grounded perspective on creative technology, with the judgment to distinguish hype from genuine value and the confidence to speak in diverse groups.
  • Exceptional listening, synthesis, and communication skills across creative and technical audiences.
  • Track record of designing or facilitating industry conversations, workshops, or advisory initiatives, moving beyond participation into ownership.
  • Proven ability to advance work across complex stakeholder dynamics, including labor and guild environments, while maintaining integrity.
  • High discretion with sensitive relationships and information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience evaluating or helping productions adopt new tools and workflows, understanding real-world adoption requirements.
  • International production experience or relationships across regional communities.
  • Involvement in production education, mentorship, or knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
  • Prior participation in industry forums, summits, or standards‑setting conversations in the creative technology space.
Compensation

The range for this role is $224,000.00 – $365,000.00. Netflix provides a structured annual salary and the option to allocate compensation between salary and stock options based on market indicators and individual performance. Bonuses are not part of this role.

Benefits

Netflix offers comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family‑forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. Paid leave of absence is available, with 35 days of paid time off for full‑time hourly employees and flexible time off for full‑time salaried employees.

Equal Opportunity and Diversity

We are an equal‑opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
