Strategic Intent

The Creative Content Manager is responsible for creating compelling visual content across digital and print channels that elevates The Watergate Hotel brand. Working closely with both the SVP and Head of Marketing and Communications, this role develops graphic design, photography, videography, and digital assets that support marketing campaigns, social media, website content, advertising, public relations, and on-property initiatives while maintaining the hotel's luxury brand standards.

This is not a production-only design role. The successful candidate is expected to proactively identify storytelling opportunities throughout the property, generate creative ideas, and produce engaging visual content with creativity, initiative, and minimal direction.

Organizational Structure

Reports To:Head of Marketing and Communications

General Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop creative concepts and visual solutions that support marketing campaigns, hotel promotions, seasonal experiences, and brand initiatives.
  • Design high-quality digital and print marketing materials including social media graphics, email campaigns, website assets, brochures, menus, signage, presentations, advertising, and sales collateral.
  • Social media planning, production and management of our Instagram channels.
  • Capture and edit photography and short-form video content throughout the hotel for use across social media, digital marketing, public relations, and the website.
  • Produce polished creative assets using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva while ensuring consistency with The Watergate Hotel brand standards.
  • Create engaging visual content including graphics, illustrations, website assets, social media creative, and marketing materials that reinforce the hotel's luxury positioning.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, photographers, videographers, printers, production vendors, web partners, and internal departments to execute creative projects.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue, Sales, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Operations teams to understand project objectives and deliver effective creative solutions.
  • Review creative work for quality, accuracy, and brand consistency before final production.
  • Proactively identify storytelling opportunities throughout the hotel and independently develop engaging visual content that showcases the guest experience and supports business objectives.
  • Contribute to team initiatives by managing multiple creative projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ensure full compliance with departmental internal controls, policies, procedures, and company regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional graphic design and content creation experience.
  • A strong eye for visual composition.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design, photography, and videography skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.
  • Proficiency with Canva for the creation and editing of marketing assets and collaborative content.
  • Experience creating short-form video content for Instagram reels, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
  • Experience capturing and editing professional photography and video content using DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, composition, color theory, visual storytelling, digital marketing, website design, advertising, and corporate identity.
  • Working knowledge of website CMS platforms, SEO fundamentals, and user experience best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Positive, proactive, customer-focused attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, luxury travel, lifestyle, or premium consumer brands is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to the Washington, DC hotel location as needed (typically one to two times per month, depending on business needs).
