JOB SUMMARY

As a Mechanical Engineer – Machine Design, for Mark Andy Global Headquarters in Chesterfield, MO you will be a driver for successful design initiatives, development, and troubleshooting of equipment, manufacturing systems, and related processes for custom OEM machinery. This role focuses on creating innovative, manufacturable solutions, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate across multi-disciple engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to deliver high-quality equipment designs that meet performance, safety, and cost objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develops creative and practical designs that align with performance expectations and customer needs.
  • Leads and coordinates the integration/validation of assigned components/assemblies.
  • Initiates, defines, and develops new design concepts.
  • Directs the modeling of components/assemblies for machine segments or modules, meeting specifications.
  • Specifies, selects, and integrates vendor components.
  • Initiates and produces designs that are manufacturable, within quality system procedures, and demonstrates an appreciation for operations and maintenance, and meets safety standards.
  • Initiates and coordinates completion of design documentation with minimal errors, including part and assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, specification sheets, modification kits, and project files.
  • Project Engineer for equipment Retrofits.
  • Lead weekly team Retrofit project review to ensure alignment with project objectives. 
  • Initiates and participates in team processes and contributes to team objectives.
  • Estimates engineering project resources, dollars, and man-hours.
  • Assumes responsibility for designs typically valued at up to $500,000.
  • Trains less experienced personnel in established methods and facilitates transfer of technical knowledge.


SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Demonstrated competency in machinery design, 3D modeling (CREO, Solidworks, AutoCAD) and use of engineering tools.
  • Exhibits willingness and ability to increase knowledge through continuous education.

Familiar with:

  • Engineering codes and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, and EC standards
  • Current industry/trade knowledge and commercial equipment availability
  • Engineering economics (viability of designs, cost analysis, ROI, etc.)
  • Materials and fabrications


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Demonstrated machine design experience.
