Job description

Position Summary...We're seeking an Associate Creative Director to help shape the future of the Walmart brand experience team. This role is equal parts creative leader, strategic thinker, trusted mentor, and brand evangelist—someone who inspires exceptional work, develops those around them, and champions the Walmart brand across every customer touchpoint. Partnering closely with the Director of Brand Experience, you'll lead multidisciplinary creative across seasonal initiatives, retail environments, experiential design, and brand innovation. The ideal candidate combines exceptional craft, systems thinking, and collaborative leadership to elevate creative, influence teams, navigate ambiguity, and bring bold ideas to life with thoughtful execution.

The Brand Experience Team is part of Walmart Creative Studio, the in-house creative agency for on of the world's largest retailers. Our mission is to bring the Walmart brand to life across every customer touchpoint: from seasonal campaigns and in-store storytelling to immersive shopping experiences, branded environments, and emerging customer experiences. We create the systems, moments, and experiences that make Walmart feel unmistakably Walmart. Our work spans physical and digital channels, partnering across Marketing, Store Design, Brand, Production, and agency partners to translate strategy into thoughtful, scalable creative solutions.   • Partner with the Director of Brand Experience to shape Walmart's creative vision across stores, digital, and emerging customer touchpoints.
  • Lead multidisciplinary creative from concept through execution, translating brand strategy into scalable customer experiences.
  • Inspire exceptional work through creative direction, mentorship, and collaboration while building strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Champion design excellence, elevate creative quality, and guide teams through ambiguity with clarity and optimism.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, improve processes, and strengthen the Walmart brand by embracing emerging trends, evolving creative systems, and delivering thoughtful, customer-centered solutions that balance strategic vision with operational excellence.
What you'll bring..
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years leading brand, retail, advertising, experiential, or integrated design
  • Proven leadership experience managing creative teams and delivering multiple projects successfully.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and design systems..
  • Ability to interpret and apply creative briefs aligned with marketing and customer experience goals.
  • Skilled in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies to ensure campaign alignment.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to enhance performance and skills.
  • Adaptability to evolving business needs and commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Expertise in branding, typography, illustration, visual systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma.
