NBC/Telemundo Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in television industry.  Internships at NBC/Telemundo Connecticut are paid and do not require course credit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with writing promotional copy for multiplatform campaigns.
  • Assist with post-production workflows including editing, color correction, and asset delivery.
  • Assist NBC Connecticut and Telemundo Connecticut’s lifestyle & entertainment shows, “CT LIVE” and “Acceso Total” respectively, with content ideas and the possible production of some integrations
  • Assist commercial producers on shoots for local clients
  • Help promote key sports tentpoles across all station platforms
  • Research competing networks and gather insights on industry trends
  • Brainstorm ideas for audience engagement, brand voice consistency, and additional revenue-generating opportunities
  • Assist with creating short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
  • Stay current on pop culture, sports, entertainment, and social media trends to inspire creative concepts
  • Prepare graphics, lower thirds, or slates to support producers
  • Pull and log clips from newscasts or field shoots for use in promos
  • Assist with shoot setup, lighting, and gear organization
  • Coordinate talent arrival, scripts, or release forms
  • Capture behind-the-scenes photos or video for social promotion
  • Help capture video/photos at community events
  • Organize media assets, project files, and footage within shared production systems
  • Update calendars for shoots and campaign deadlines
  •  Take notes in creative or marketing meetings that will be shared with the team.
  • Track music usage, licensing notes, or production paperwork when needed
Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress  
  • Current class standing of junior or above (30 credits)  
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal  
  • IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT 

Basic Requirements:

  • Current class standing of junior or above.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
  • Experience in digital content creation (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook).
  • Basic editing skills via Adobe Creative Suite programs (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Pursuing a major in Marketing, Communications or Graphic Design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills 
  • Exceptional project management, organizational and presentation skills 
  • Familiarity with and experience using multiple social platforms 
  • Interest in the television, streaming or digital entertainment industries 
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams 
  • Graphic design experience with understanding Photoshop
