What is a creative intern?

A creative intern works as part of the creative team at a private company, advertising agency, or similar organization. Your main job duties involve working with other members of the team on design projects for print and online media. In addition to a strong portfolio of creative work, the position requires you to have strong communication and time management skills. Qualifications include work experience in the specific field for which you are seeking an internship, as well as familiarity with relevant industry software. Working as a creative intern is one way to get a career in advertising, design, or marketing.

What types of projects and responsibilities can a creative intern typically expect during their internship?

As a Creative Intern, you can expect to work on a variety of projects ranging from brainstorming sessions to assisting with content creation such as graphics, copywriting, or video editing, depending on the organization. You’ll likely support senior creatives with research, mood boards, and campaign development, and may be asked to contribute fresh ideas during team meetings. This role often involves collaborating with designers, marketers, and project managers, giving you exposure to the full creative process.
