Job Overview

ASSYST is seeking a versatile, data-driven, and creative Communication Coordinator to join our team. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to contribute beyond traditional communication practices by developing innovative marketing strategies, introducing fresh ideas, and taking ownership of key communication initiatives. The Communication Coordinator will be responsible for managing the organization''s social media presence, coordinating website content updates, supporting the Business Development team with partner outreach efforts, and leading internal communication initiatives that foster employee engagement, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Actively pitch creative, modern ideas for our marketing approaches, social media campaigns, and brand presence.
  • Take the lead on executing new communication projects from start to finish rather than just maintaining legacy processes.
  • Create, and design high-quality communication materials, including corporate newsletters, presentations, and pitch decks.
  • Evaluate our current website design from a user perspective; recommend and coordinate fresh updates to improve layout, look, and feel.
  • Keep our primary channels (Website, Social, Partner communications) updated, vibrant, and aligned with our brand identity.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to coordinate outreach efforts, crafting compelling messages for partner acquisition.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in marketing, brand management, communications, or a related role.
  • Mindset: A proactive, can-do attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for building community and keeping people excited.
  • Prior familiarity with the Government Contracting (GovCon) industry is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn) and basic tools (e.g., Canva, or Google Analytics).
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for modern design trends.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four-year college or university.
