Job Summary

The Electrician for Solar Projects performs electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and ground-mounted projects. Working under the direction of the Lead Electrician or Installation Manager, this role ensures safe and compliant electrical work, contributing to the successful completion of solar installations. 90 day Probationary period

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Install electrical components for solar PV systems, including wiring, inverters, battery storage, and metering equipment.
  • Run conduit, pull wiring, and connect solar arrays to electrical panels and grid interconnection points.
  • Must be proficient in conduit bending.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues related to solar system performance or connectivity.
  • Follow project plans and specifications to ensure accurate electrical installations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are accounted for and in good condition.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations.
  • Support the Lead Electrician in preparing and organizing materials for each job.
  • Clean job sites, removing debris and ensuring a professional work environment.
  • Complete daily service logs and documentation as required.
  • Assist with permitting inspections and interactions with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Be proficient in reading Single-Line Drawings and Three-Line Drawings.
  • Must be proficient in AC & DC Battery applications.
  • Proficient with basic electrical tools and technical software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for insurability purposes.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of experience in electrical work, preferably with exposure to solar PV or renewable energy systems.
  • Battery system certifications (e.g., Outback Radian, Tesla, LG) are a plus.
  • Commitment to continued education in electrical or solar technologies.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Comfort working at heights, climbing ladders, and operating on rooftops or elevated structures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle to job sites as needed.
