Overall Job Function:

The Retail Marketing Coordinator plans, coordinates, and executes marketing efforts for our FCS retail businesses, Member’s Cut and the How-To Building Center (HTBC). This position leads retail promotional planning, creates engaging photo and video content, maintains retail social media calendars, and helps ensure consistent customer-facing communication across retail platforms. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, comfortable working in-store, and able to coordinate details across retail leadership, the marketing team, and the Digital Media Graphic Designer. This role also provides seasonal support for customer appreciation events, golf outings, county fair efforts, and other community outreach activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan and execute weekly Member’s Cut promotions, seasonal campaigns, and product launches.
  • Maintain separate marketing and social media calendars for Member’s Cut and HTBC.
  • Create and schedule Member’s Cut social media posts, including one to two reels when appropriate.
  • Capture photos and videos in-store and at events and write clear promotional copy.
  • Confirm pricing, product details, dates, and approvals before publishing content.
  • Plan HTBC seasonal campaigns, vendor promotions, and co-op marketing opportunities.
  • Architect and execute a unified social media content strategy that mirrors our brand's voice, goals, and seasonal themes across social channels.
  • Generate, schedule, and create diverse social media content across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, ensuring a steady drumbeat of engaging posts.
  • Partner with the Digital Media Graphic Designer on flyers, signage, print materials, advertising, photography, and polished video.
  • Review sales and social media results to improve future promotions.
  • Submit planned content for approval and schedule approved posts on time.
  • Provide retail, event, and community content for the main FCS social media calendar.
  • Establish strong relationships with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.
  • Support customer appreciation events with materials, volunteers, signage, giveaways, content, and day-of logistics.
  • Coordinate county fair T-shirts, swag bags, giveaways, and related content.
  • Stay current on retail marketing, social media, and short-form video trends.

Competencies:

• Strong planning and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• Experience creating social media content, including photos, short-form video, reels, and copy.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with retail teams, leaders, vendors, and community partners.

• Creative, practical approach to content that supports customer engagement and sales.

• Strong attention to detail, especially with pricing, product information, dates, approvals, and print materials.

• Ability to use basic sales and social media results to improve future promotions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing changing priorities.

• Willingness to travel between FCS locations and attend occasional evening or weekend events.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, business, or a related field is preferred.

• One to three years of experience in retail marketing, social media, content creation, promotions, or event coordination is preferred but not required.

• Experience with Facebook, Instagram, Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe Express, or similar content and scheduling tools is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position works in office, retail, food-service, lumber, and agricultural environments and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, refrigerated areas, dust, noise, moving equipment, fumes, or airborne particles. PPE will be provided and must be used according to FCS safety standards. Typical working hours are based on customer and organizational demand; occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for scheduled events and peak campaign periods.
