Winthrop Position Title
Creative Content Graduate Assistant FA26
Job Purpose
Winthrop Athletics is seeking one graduate assistant for the 2026-27 & 2027-28 academic years. This position will allow the selected candidate to gain hands-on experience in the intercollegiate industry. The selected candidate will assist Winthrop Athletics in helping maintain and grow its brand through videography, social media, photography, and graphic design.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists the Director of Video Production & Creative Content in workflow, production and management of game days
  • Manage the social media and creative content efforts working with Winthrop Creative Content including but not limited to in-game and studio photography, videography, graphics, hype videos, media days, official visits, and sponsorship fulfillments.
  • Collaborates with Communications, Marketing, Ticketing, and Development on social media content
  • Other duties as assigned

-Compensation:
The Creative Content GA will receive In-State Tuition along with a $3,500 tuition stipend (per semester). Additionally, this position will be paid $3,500 per semester. No Housing or Meal Plans included.
Qualifications
-Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field).
  • Must be accepted into a graduate program at Winthrop University.
  • Experience with cinema and mirrorless cameras (Sony and/or Canon).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Suite Programs, specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator
  • Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with photo, video, graphic design, and/or social media within college sports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with student-athletes, colleagues, coaches, and student workers.

-Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of studio lighting and photography/videography
  • Social media management experience, sports preferred but not required
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
