Job description

Labor & Employment Associate (Green Bay or Appleton) POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced associate to join our Labor & Employment team based in Green Bay or Appleton to serve the needs of our regional, national, and global clients. The ideal candidate is proactive and will thrive in managing complex projects with strong attention to detail and within a high-performing team.You will work closely with experienced shareholders who are committed to mentoring associates, providing substantive feedback, and helping them develop a well-rounded practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, employment-related contracts, responsive pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Advise clients on state and federal labor and employment laws, including fair employment, wage and hour, labor relations, and leave laws.
  • Represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies and courts, including arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and assisting with case strategy, trial preparation, and other litigation matters.
  • Stay current on legal developments affecting labor, employment, and litigation, and provide creative, practical legal solutions that help clients achieve their objectives in complex, high-stakes matters.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years of experience in labor & employment law, with meaningful experience handling employment-related litigation
  • Excellent research, writing and drafting skills
  • Proven ability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and demands both internally and externally
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work full-time, including variable hours that flex with client needs
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Interest in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with a strong desire to contribute to team and client success
  • J.D. from ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted or eligible for admission to practice in Wisconsin.
