Job description

Job Description Summary Under general supervision, and with a high level of autonomy, uses knowledge and skills obtained through education, training and / or prior experience to assist with both the underwriting of new Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT") and Commercial Real Estate ("CRE") transactions, as well as monitoring an active portfolio of existing REIT & CRE loans. Specifically, the position will be located at Raymond James Bank’s Home Office in St. Petersburg, FL, where you’ll work alongside a seasoned team of professionals, including Banking Officers and other Credit Associates. This position combines corporate-style REIT analysis and hands‑on underwriting of secured CRE loans, providing exposure to large syndicated financings and direct sponsor relationships. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about modeling corporate and property‑level cash flows and assessing risk across a range of institutional commercial real estate asset types - retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, senior housing, student housing, data centers, and self‑storage assets, and more! Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with the development, structure, negotiation and closing of REIT & CRE transactions which are secured by high quality assets throughout the United States. Oversees a dedicated portfolio of assigned REIT & CRE loans, monitoring loan grading and credit quality on regular basis. Researches and analyzes financial statements, interprets findings, and prepares various reports for senior management and credit. Prepares detailed REIT and / or project level Cash Flow projections utilizing Excel and third‑party modeling software (i.e., Argus). Performs demand analysis and market research as is related to new loan transaction opportunities, utilizing third party diligence tools, etc. Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations relating to REIT & CRE transactions. Maintains documentation files and monitors compliance with terms of loans and accounts. Prepares report evaluations ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable State, Federal, agency and investor guidelines. Coaches and mentors oncoming associates within the department. Joins in deal discussions as is related to potential syndicated loan and direct loan opportunities.

Knowledge of

Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of REIT and CRE credit analysis. Finance and/or accounting principles, practices and procedures. Federal and State laws.

Skill in

Preparing complex financial position and credit reports. Reading, interpreting, analyzing and applying information from credit reports, P&L / BS statements, rent rolls, appraisals, construction. Researching, interpreting and analyzing complex financial statements. Structuring, negotiating, underwriting and closing loan transactions. Generating Cash Flow projections. Maintaining documentation files. Monitoring compliance on loans and accounts. Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable State, Federal, agency and investor guidelines. Preparing and delivering oral and written presentations. Performing market and transaction due diligence. Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications. Excel modeling and computation.

Ability to
