Job description
The Charge Description Master (CDM) Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, maintenance, integrity, optimization, and governance of the UF Health Charge Description Master (CDM) across all hospitals, ambulatory locations, provider-based departments, physician and ancillary services. This role ensures accurate charge capture, regulatory compliance, reimbursement integrity, and standardization of charge structures throughout the enterprise. The Manager leads a team of CDM analysts and collaborates extensively with Clinical Operations, Finance, Patient Financial Services, HIM, Coding, Utilization Management, Compliance, Revenue Cycle Support, Managed Care, and Information Technology to maintain a compliant and efficient charging environment. The position serves as the operational leader for enterprise CDM governance and supports organizational initiatives related to Epic, Craneware, charge capture optimization, and revenue cycle transformation.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Finance, Health Information Management, Nursing, Accounting, or related field.
- Seven (7+) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare revenue cycle experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience directly supporting CDM, Revenue Integrity, Charge Capture, Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, or related revenue cycle functions.
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Epic experience a must.
- Craneware knowledge is preferred.
- Large, complex academic medical center experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration
- Certified Healthcare Revenue Integrity (CHRI) preferred.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
