What is a crane base?

A crane base is the foundational structure or platform that supports a crane during its operation. It ensures stability and safety by distributing the weight and forces generated by the crane and its load. The design and construction of a crane base are critical, as an improperly installed base can lead to accidents or equipment failure. Crane bases can be permanent, like those for tower cranes, or temporary, such as mats or pads used for mobile cranes. Proper site assessment and engineering are essential to determine the right type of base for each crane installation.
