What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: The Senior Craft Recruiter partners closely with Construction, Operations, Project Controls, Human Resources, and Site Leadership teams to develop proactive workforce strategies, build sustainable talent pipelines, and ensure the successful delivery of project staffing requirements. This position provides leadership, guidance, and mentorship to recruiting team members while driving continuous improvement in recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, and workforce planning initiatives.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit craft personnel for welding, insulation, coatings, construction, electrical operations throughout the Louisiana region.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with field personnel, supervisors, foremen, and industry contacts to generate candidate referrals.

  • Source candidates through networking, referrals, industry relationships, job boards, community outreach, and local recruiting efforts.

  • Screen and interview candidates to assess qualifications, work history, certifications, and craft experience.

  • Verify employment history and evaluate candidate suitability for specific project and workforce needs.

  • Partner closely with operations leaders to understand manpower requirements and workforce planning needs.

  • Maintain candidate pipelines for ongoing and future workforce demands.

  • Manage candidate communications throughout the recruiting process.

  • Utilize recruiting systems, databases, and reporting tools to track recruiting activity and hiring progress.

  • Attend hiring events, workforce development programs, and industry networking opportunities as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with company hiring policies and procedures.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Advanced coursework is highly preferred.

Certification: No certification is required for this position.

Experience: This position requires 3 or more years of experience recruiting, workforce development, manpower coordination, craft supervision or related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience within scaffolding, insulation, coatings, industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, refinery, petrochemical, or related industries strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of craft labor recruiting and workforce planning.

  • Ability to assess candidate qualifications and verify applicable trade experience.

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting systems.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently while partnering closely with operations leadership.

  • Prior experience recruiting craft labor in industrial or construction environments.

  • Existing network within the Louisiana industrial construction market.

  • Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, power generation, maintenance, or turnaround projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
