Department: Westport Crab
Employment Type: Seasonal - Full Time
Location: Westport
Compensation: $17.75 / hour

Summary:
To weigh, clean, remove meat, inspect, grade, and pack crab for sale. Responsible for timely and accurate crab processing.
This position does not offer housing. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Westport, Washington for all scheduled shifts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry baskets of product weighing up to 50 pounds to work station
  • Use mallet and anvil in a repetitive motion to remove the crab meat from the shell.
  • Inspect meat for shell and defects
  • Follow health and safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood
Required:
  • Experience with the utilization of food processing equipment, sanitation, and food safety

Preferred:
  • Experience with the safe operation of forklifts and powered pallet jacks

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work, walking and standing are required only occasionally.

  • Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
