We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Viscosupplement Injection Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for contacting insurance companies to verify benefit information and obtain authorizations. Additional responsibilities include ordering and arranging the delivery of injectable medications, as well as scheduling patients for their treatment appointments. You may also be asked to assist with receptionist duties on rare occasions.

Duties

  • Insurance Verification & Authorization: Contact payers to confirm patient eligibility and coverage levels for specific viscosupplementation brands (e.g., Synvisc, Orthovisc, Durolane).
  • Prior Authorization Management: Submit clinical documentation to insurance companies and track the status of authorizations to ensure timely approvals.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Order injection supplies based on patient-specific needs and coordinate the delivery of medications from specialty pharmacies.
  • Patient Scheduling: Manage the clinical calendar to schedule patients for their initial and follow-up injection series.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system regarding authorization numbers and expiration dates.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the correct medication is available at the time of the patient's visit.
  • Front Office Support: Assist with check-in, check-out, and phone management during peak times or staff shortages.

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience
  • Medical Office Background: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume healthcare setting. Experience in orthopedics, pain management, or physical medicine is highly preferred.
  • Insurance Coordination: Prior experience with prior authorizations, benefits verification, and navigating ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes specifically for injections.

Technical Skills

  • Insurance Portals: Familiarity with online payer portals (e.g., Availity, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna) for real-time eligibility checks.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Strong understanding of patient privacy regulations and secure handling of medical records.
  • Insurance Coordination: Prior experience with prior authorizations, benefits verification, and navigating ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes specifically for injections.

Join our team and help patients regain their mobility. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (at no cost to the employee), dental, and vision insurance, plus employer-paid life insurance. To support your long-term goals, we also provide 401(k) matching, ensuring you are rewarded for your vital role in our specialty practice.
