Job Description

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Officer (SO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to oversee and manage the daily security operation our Air Force Special Access Program (SAP) facility. The SO/CPSO will ensure compliance with federal regulations, oversee personnel security processes, and safeguard classified information in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Air Force SAP Regulations. Additional duties will include overseeing safety of non-Government owned facilities to ensure smooth functioning of all building systems, manage vendor relationships, and create a safe, efficient, and productive environment for employees and visitors.

GDIT provides Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Physical/Personnel contractor support to critical missions of the United States Air Force. As one of the largest providers of enterprise-wide IT services in the Federal Government, GDITs extensive IT and security experience provides Air Force leadership a unique opportunity to leverage our advanced technology and security proven processes to be integrated into is unique mission across the globe.

How a Security Officer/ Contractor Program Security Officer will make an impact:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility security matters

  • Ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the NISPOM, its Supplement, the DoD Overprint, ICD, and SAP policy

  • Assist in developing and executing approved policies and procedures for safeguarding Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral data in support of program and client mission objectives

  • Provide day-to-day security support that includes continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and provide appropriate recommendations for revising and improving security policies, procedures, and systems

  • Conduct and document SAP facility compliance reviews, follow-on facility reviews, and facility close-outs

  • Conduct Defense Central Index of Investigations (DCII), Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and SAPNP reviews of candidates being submitted for SAP access

  • Perform data entry and record checks in the Joint Access Database Environment (JADE) and maintains all customer sponsored personnel access information current

  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures in compliance with the NISPOM, DCSA, and GDIT requirements, and other applicable government regulations

  • Manage personnel security clearance processes, including initiating eApp packages, submitting background investigations, and tracking clearance statuses up to and including SCI eligibility

  • Conduct security training and briefings for employees, including initial, refresher, and specialized training

  • Maintain and update security records, including DISS, and other government databases

  • Act as the primary liaison with DCSA and other government agencies for inspections, audits, and correspondence

  • In collaboration with GDIT Corporate Facilities team, oversee daily operations of the facility to ensure optimal functionality and safety

  • In collaboration with GDIT Corporate Facilities team, coordinate suppliers and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services

  • Handle emergency situations, such as equipment failures or weather-related events, to minimize operational downtime

  • Assist with coordinating supplier visits on-site in Government owned facilities that require a Visitor Access Request (VAR)

  • If required, responsible for all aspects of physical security for an ICD-705 accredited space

  • Other duties as assigned


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education: Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree an additional 4+ years of related experience is required
Experience: 5+ years of security (CPSO) experience; Security Fundamental Professional Certification (SFPC) & Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) each count as 1 year of experience
Technical skills:

  • Current experience and knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DCSA and other government regulations.

  • Completed the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum via STEPP

Security clearance level: Must have an active Top Secret clearance to be considered and be willing to obtain/maintain POLY
US citizenship required
Role requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in an office 5 days per week

  • Travel to/from customer sites less than 10%

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
