Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join a compassionate, patient-centered healthcare organization dedicated to teamwork, collaboration, and high-quality care. This full-time, on-site role focuses on evaluating, designing, fitting, and managing custom prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients with limb loss, musculoskeletal conditions, and physical disabilities.

The ideal candidate is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and committed to improving patient mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including physical assessments and collaboration with physicians and healthcare professionals

  • Design, fabricate, and fit custom prosthetic and orthotic devices according to medical prescriptions

  • Monitor, adjust, and modify devices to ensure optimal fit, comfort, and functionality

  • Ensure ethical and compliant coding and billing practices

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and rehabilitation specialists

  • Maintain required CEUs and certification in good standing with ABC or BOC

  • Stay current with advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technologies

  • Assist fabrication staff and mentor junior clinicians or technicians

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and professional guidelines

  • Support financial and operational performance expectations as discussed with leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from a CAAHEP-accredited program

  • Completion of an NCOPE-accredited residency program

  • Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) credentialed by ABC or BOC

  • Active IL licensure or ability to obtain

  • Preferred: 2-3 years of experience in prosthetic and orthotic patient care

  • Experience with CAD/CAM and prosthetic/orthotic design software preferred
